Using our super-moisturising organic body butters is a lovely way to give skin a soothing, replenishing boost. Weather, central heating and air-conditioning can feel drying; a rich body butter helps your skin feel comfortable and well-cared-for after a bath or shower.

Think of body butter as a richer, more occlusive moisturiser than a lotion. It’s usually made from plant butters and oils that sit closer to the surface of skin to help reduce transepidermal water loss (TEWL). Lotions are water-based and feel lighter; a butter feels more cushioning and long-lasting — ideal for elbows, knees and dry patches.
In a hurry? A quick-absorbing body lotion is perfect when you’re dashing out. Need longer-lasting comfort? Our organic body butters melt in to help skin feel soft and supple for hours.

Body butter vs lotion is mostly about texture and timing. Choose lotion when you want a light, fast finish under clothes in warm weather. Choose body butter when skin feels tight or looks flaky, or overnight for a cocooning finish. You can also layer — lotion first on damp skin, then a little butter on the driest areas.
Whipped body butter is aerated for a fluffy feel that spreads easily and absorbs more quickly than a dense balm. It keeps the same nourishing plant oils and butters, with a lighter, cloud-like texture that many people prefer in warmer months.

Our butters blend organic shea and nourishing plant oils for a soft, comforting finish. Shea body butter lends a rich, protective feel; cocoa body butter glides on beautifully to help skin feel smooth. In skincare, “occlusives” create a light seal at the surface to slow water loss and enhance comfort (see NHS guidance on emollients here and a dermatology overview of moisturisers on PubMed Central).
Prefer minimal scent? We offer fragrance-free (no added fragrance) options so you can keep your routine simple. “Unscented” means we haven’t added fragrance; the natural ingredients may still have a gentle, neutral aroma.
Sweet Orange & Frangipani Body Butter — a sumptuous, uplifting aroma with a smooth, cushioned finish.
Grapefruit, Lemon & Cedarwood Body Butter — zesty and quietly woody; a bright, feel-good after-shower step.
Pure (Scent-Free) Body Butter — simple, gentle and fragrance-free (no added fragrance), ideal if you prefer a neutral routine.

Yes — used after bathing, body butter helps skin feel softer and more comfortable by slowing water loss.
As often as you like. Many people apply nightly on feet/hands and a few times a week on arms and legs.
Yes. Try a thinner layer or switch to a natural body lotion for a lighter feel in warmer months.
Use sparingly and target drier areas. Patch-test first if you’re sensitive to certain plant oils.
If your skin feels tight after a shower, looks dull on shins and elbows, or feels rough on hands and heels, a richer body butter can help it feel more comfortable. Because butters are more occlusive than lotions, they sit nearer the surface and slow water loss, so skin feels cushioned for longer.

Different plant butters bring slightly different textures. A classic balm feels richly protective; a whipped body butter spreads more lightly and absorbs faster. Here’s a simple guide to help you choose:
